Sign up for this 45-hour classroom course geared towards international professionals and designed with the business world in mind.

Will it be useful for you?

This course will enable you to achieve a basic understanding of Catalan and will help you improve your professional career, create new opportunities for your business project, expand your network of business contacts, or simply make new friends in Barcelona.

What will you learn?

Upon completing this course, you will be able to understand and use basic everyday expressions in common usage in the workplace and in business. You will learn to construct simple sentences to effectively communicate using basic linguistic resources.

Cost, signing up and participation

This course is subsidised by Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia, so it is free for participants.

If you sign up but cannot begin the course, kindly cancel your registration by sending an email to citypromotion@barcelonactiva.cat, so that someone else can have your place.

If you sign up for the course and have to stop attending halfway through it, you will need to explain why you are dropping out in an email message to this same email address.

If once you are signed up you do not start the course or you stop coming without explaining why, your place will go unused and there will be a sanction, which is losing the right to sign up for a similar course in the future.

This course is organised jointly by the Barcelona Language Normalisation Centre (CNL) and the City Promotion Department of Barcelona City Council, the promoter of Barcelona International Welcome.
