Walking tour around the Olympic Barcelona

Ariel view of the Olympic ring in Montjuïc

The Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992 not only gave the city a global standing, but also entailed an unprecedented transformation in both urban planning and the social and economic sphere.

To mark the thirty years that have passed since the Olympic Games, we invite you on a guided walk around the Olympic Ring in Montjuïc. Under the guidance and knowledge of the architect Jaume Carné, you’ll discover the urban planning and social legacy of an Olympic Games that changed the city forever.

We’ll be setting off from the Magic Fountain in Montjuïc, and from there we’ll make our way up to the Olympic Ring to visit the Picornell Swimming Pools, the Palau Sant Jordi, the Olympic Stadium, the Pau Negre Sports Complex and the Olympic Museum.

The walk ends up at the Montjuïc Swimming Pools, where the diving competitions were held. There we can enjoy a soft drink, along with some of the city’s most spectacular panoramic views.
