Since 2018 Barcelona works harder than ever to cut the greenhouse gas emissions, increase the production of renewable energy and reduce the mobility of motor vehicles, among other environmental actions. Here’s a review.
COVID-19. The current measures will remain in place until 7 February, with a municipal lockdown in response to the rising number of cases from the pandemic.
Rambla. The new strategy seeks to regain public space for citizens.
A new project plans to create four international train lines, that will be known as Nightjet, and will link Barcelona and Zurich from 2024.
Urban planning. The mountainward side of the area will get 562 flats, 35% of them protected, along with three schools and green areas to integrate the different spaces.
Mobility and transport. The City Police steps up its operation to control the circulation of electric scooters, hoverboards and wheels.
