Barcelona International Community Day will hold its 11th edition on 28 September. As usual, the event will be held at the Barcelona Maritime Museum and feature a large exhibition area with around 80 exhibitors.

All these companies, institutions and organisations will showcase their products, services and initiatives for Barcelona’s international talent ecosystem. This year, 56 companies and organisations, 16 associations, social clubs, non-profit organisations, and eight international schools participate.

The event, which is organised by the Barcelona City Council, has become established as the main welcoming, meeting and networking space for international professionals living and working in Barcelona. The trade fair is one of the core parts of the event, as it provides resources to support the arrival and integration of newcomers and help them realise their full potential in the city.

All sectors will be represented

A diverse range of exhibitors will be present at the event. Companies, institutions and organisations operating in a wide range of sectors, such as the financial sector, with Banc Sabadell as its main representative and premium sponsor of the event, will be in attendance. Visitors will also be able to avail themselves of legal services, such as the one provided by Entre Trámites, and international mobility support services provided by companies such as Eres Relocation.

The public sector will be represented in various ways at the event. Barcelona Activa, the economic development agency of the Barcelona City Council, will be in charge of professional development matters. Municipal spaces and services, such as Tibidabo, Barcelona Zoo and Bicing, will also be showcased at the event through B:SM (Barcelona Municipal Services). Finally, the Barcelona Institute of Sports will provide information about opportunities for doing sport in the city.

Turisme de Barcelona and Barcelona Provincial Council will present initiatives relevant to the international community, such as the programme Barcelona és molt més [Barcelona is much more], while Mercats de Barcelona will tell visitors about its role in the city and its planned activities.

The fair will also be attended by healthcare organisations, such as the hospital HLA Clínica Internacional Barcelona, and organisations operating in the education sector, represented by the Barcelona International Schools Association (BISA) and some of its members.

Cultural organisations, such as Biblioteques de Barcelona, the Barcelona Language Normalisation Centre, the Confucius Institute and the Barcelona Institute of Culture, will be present too. Spreading the word about these cultural organisations helps newcomers integrate into the city so they can experience it just like any other resident.

A number of organisations of great relevance in the business and social arenas take part every year. Among these are the European Chambers of Commerce, the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation and the LGTBI+ Chamber of Catalonia.

Of course, some of the city’s main ‘expat’ networks will also take part. International associations that have already become staples of the event, such as SIETAR Spain, will be there again. Furthermore, specialised media outlets, such as Catalan News, will represent the city’s current affairs.
