Folk and avant-garde come together in Ani in the Hall, the duo formed in 2020 by Aina Serena and Jan Cabarrocas. They’re now presenting their new EP Intel·ligència romàntica, continuing their exploration of new sound structures, textures and possibilities to discover new forms of musical expression. Their live performances regain the essence of folk music and reshape pop structures to find their own voice. This intersection between folk and avant-garde elements, the simultaneity of a ritual state and wry form of listening, and the constant search for ever-changing, diverse sounds are among the defining features of the band’s style.

In 2021 the duo released Para cuatro personajes y un niño, a first self-produced EP reflecting on the limits of solitude. Their live audiovisual production L’asguilando + El cuerpo (live) (2022) reflected new acoustic exploration, bringing together and a performance of the Maria del Mar Bonet song “L’asguilando”.
