BAM 2023: The showcase for emerging music from Barcelona

The BAM Festival is back, from 22 to 25 September this year as part of the La Mercè festivities, and once again it will be the showcase for emerging music from the Catalan, Spanish and international music scenes with shows at four different locations in Barcelona: Moll de la Fusta, Rambla del Raval, Plaça Reial and the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm.

Once again, BAM is being organised under the artistic direction of L’Alfluent, a mixed cultural services cooperative with a team specialised in music and education. Over the last few editions, L’Afluent has been working to build a festival that’s plural and inclusive, and one that has deep roots, but is at the same time decentralised.

So, again we find a programme featuring musical and artistic offerings, all with different styles, different bodies and with different origins and cultural roots. In short, a space for enjoying alternative performances that are a reflection of contemporary society.

As Kyiv is the guest city at La Mercè 2023, BAM will also feature two acts from Ukraine – electronica from Poly Chain and hip-hop from Alyona Alyona.
