Tradition and modernity go hand in hand in the music of Carmen Xía, who draws from flamenco and Andalusian folklore, as well as hip-hop and electronic music. It’s like Lauryn Hill led by the hand of Lola Flores to go and see Gata Cattana, to put it simply, all with her own powerful style full of messages and values. Carmen Xía is presenting the songs of El cuerpo, an LP featuring songs such as Candela and Premenstrual.

These are the newest songs since La herida (2022), the debut disc where the artist portrayed her personal research into her Andalusian roots and paid tribute to her influences: from Camarón de la Isla and Marifé de Triana to Arianna Puello and Mala Rodriguez. Songs such as Orguyoça, Puerta çin yabe and La Juani are contemporary classics in new Andalusian music.
