RAC 105 STAGE

6.30 pm Porto Bello (Catalonia; pop/ electronic; suitable for age 6+).

La llei universal (Universal Law) is the title of the latest album from this band from Altafulla - true ambassadors for festival music - who fill stages with energy and positivity with songs such as “Cada Cop”. Pop and electronic music come together in this work in a frenetic festive rhythm. It’s an album that seeks to instil hope, one that’s dedicated to people who refuse to let themselves be beaten down by difficulties, people who look destiny straight in the eye, and the concert is already sold-out. After a summer of performances all over Catalonia, they’re kicking off the afternoon of the day that honours the Virgin of the Mercè with their own mix of purely electronic music and the latest in pop.

7.30 pm Suu (Catalonia; pop; suitable for age 6+).

Ventura, by Suu, is one of the most played albums of the last few months thanks to songs like “Tant de bo” (RAC 105 award for the most frequently played song on the station last year). Her partnership with Carlos Sadness has been hugely successful, as you’ll already know if you’ve listened to the duet “Barcelona Tropical”, a song that they perform together and that will be one of those most played over the coming months. The singer-songwriter, who incidentally has also released a book of poetry called Fauna o amor, will be performing it at her concert at the Festes de la Mercè.

8.45 pm La Fúmiga (+ guest artist Samantha) (Valencia region; ska/ punk/ alternative; suitable for age 6+)

Is there any common ground between band music and alternative music? Ask La Fúmiga, a group that’s a breath of fresh air on the more traditional Valencian music scene, and that mixes the sound of trumpets, trombones and fiscorns with ska, punk, and even Latin rhythms. After months of success with Havia de passar, in May they broke sales records with “Ja no fa mal”, a song performed with Samantha, one of the artists with the highest number of followers on the social networks since appearing in Operación Triunfo.
