Concert "Odissée", within "BAM - Barcelona Acció Musical”

Odissée (USA - Rap).

No, not all contemporary rap is "Lambos", "Patek Philippes" and "skrrt skrrt".

If you're more about the flow than the cash, Odisée is your man - he was already there long before urban music conquered the radio waves around the globe. MC and producer from Washington, son of a Sudanese father and an American mother, Amir Mohamed el Khalifa grew up between Khartoum, Sudan, where he spent hot summers swimming on the banks of the Nile, and the East Coast of the United States, forming part of the tradition of funk and soul inspired hip-hop, founded by veterans such as A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. His latest release, The Iceberg (2017), which brings together live instrumentation and political commentary, is just the high point of a career that goes back to 2005 and that, including albums and mixtapes, now counts some twenty releases.
