Projections at the City Hall: Ode from the sky

At night, la Mercè dresses up in fire and colour, offering us some artistic spectacles that use photons, or gunpowder, as raw material. The projection shows at the City Hall, the 21st International Pyrotechnic and Pyromusical Festival light up Barcelona’s Mercè Festival. A poem by the writer and literary critic David Castillo lends its name to an all-encompassing, futuristic visual experience in which the city of Barcelona plays the leading role. Projection mapping and some synchronised lighting effects that will fill the entire square are the technological tools used by the visual artist Fausto Morales, creator of a global show that has come to life thanks to the collaboration of José Vaaliña. Dynamism, contemporaneity and renovation are three elements that not only describe this production, but are also three virtues that define the spirit of Barcelona superbly.
