Toc de fusta (games): Els amics d'en Crusó (Catalonia; all ages)
“Els amics d’en Crusó” is a play-based experience for people of all ages, an open space for discovering and experiencing automatons and their mechanisms. This interactive installation aims to provoke the curiosity of passive onlookers and go-getters alike, without the need for instruction and with play as the only driver for the twenty original creations in the collection.
Large-format automatons, jigsaws, mechanical games which animate small automatons in a playing area form children aged from 2 upwards.
“We play to get you playing”. This is the slogan for Toc de Fusta, a group which invents and builds wooden games and automatons in an old workshop in Les Avellanes. A little over ten years ago, this group of friends decided to devote their efforts to cutting wood and crafting original giant birds and frogs. Their trade is as fun and novel as the games they’ll be bringing to the Fàbrica Damm for La Mercè. Because, as they say, we all like to play at being a child again, and when they’re developing a new creation that’s likely to be how they feel!
As part of the MAC, Toc de Fusta will be offering a generous collection of creative and skills-based games for players of all ages. Shall we play?
