A dictator writes his speech for the anniversary of his coming to power; a grandiloquent speech that covers the most significant events of his political career. And while this megalomaniac and ridiculous character ruminates what he will say in front of a crowd, a company of trapeze artists perform his wishes and memories live—everything that goes through his head. In a series of scenes, these trapeze virtuosos will go through the thoughts of the tribute... and shake them up, in order to offer a very different discourse from the one he prepares.

Accompanied by the songs of Quincy Jones, Gal Costa and Ray Santos, among other musicians and singers of the twentieth century, but also by compositions by Mussorgski, Wagner or Saint-Saëns, Les Lendemains et les Philébulistes will leave young and old in awe of their mastery of the flying trapeze: a fantasy a grand scale that is spectacular, strange and fascinating.

La Tangente du Bras Tendu plays with the ties the flying trapeze has to ideological propaganda, a theme that is approached from a critical perspective in a space for humour and acrobatic dexterity.
