Route: Plaça de Sant Jaume –streets in Ciutat Vella – Plaça de Sant Jaume

This year, the giants have once again been on display in the City Hall, which means that the giant couples taking part in the Xambanga will be leaving their house to find the festival in the square, so to speak. And that’s because Plaça de Sant Jaume will be filled with music and the giants will be displaying all the wealth, vitality and modernity (yes, you read that right) of the culture they represent. Because this year, a unique music group has been formed expressly for the occasion, directed by Marcel Casellas, which will be performing a fusion of traditional music and contemporary electronic sounds.

What will Barcelona’s timeless melodies sound like when they pass through this filter? They say this will be an immersive journey through the history and culture of Barcelona during which you will follow the giants through the streets and squares whilst listening to the music playing in the square. This is a festival, and the protagonists know that tomorrow will be a big day for them. Let them rest a bit, they’ve got a lot of work ahead of them.
