In a world besieged by the consequences of consumerism and the incessant production of plastic, Invasión sintética emerges as a provocative and symbolic installation that seeks to confront and challenge our complacency about the environmental crisis. The installation transforms a peaceful park into a disquieting landscape. Visitors are faced with a supernatural scene: an immense mountain of plastic (meticulously designed using waste materials gathered from various sources to highlight the diversity and omnipresence of this synthetic invasion), which is advancing, invading and growing; a plastic avalanche swallowing trees and paths. The plastic mass is a tangible representation of the consequences of our collective consumption choices. This project is also designed to be an investigation into the relationship between light and plastic, into the transparency and density of this material and how light impacts it, changing its shape, texture and rigidity.
