Quadratic is an immersive and multisensory light and sound installation that explores the intersection of geometry, light and sound created by the square layout of the room’s four walls. Forty-four spotlights bring to life a light choreography that establishes a mathematical dialogue emphasising the quadrature of the space. The addition of four powerful lasers, reflected in a play of mirrors, brings an extra dimension to the environment. As they hit the walls, each beam of light illuminates and weaves a conceptual framework that connects to the room’s grid, emphasising the intrinsic relationship between the work and its host space. Quadraphonic sound from four speakers strategically placed in the corners completes the experience.
