El zoòtrop roig - La roda de la llum [The Red Zoetrope - The Wheel of Light] is a journey through time. Art and technology converge to create an experience that connects with the ancient fascination of bringing images and stories to life. The device reinterprets the zoetrope invented by William George Horner, an apparatus that displayed moving images through slits arranged around it while the interior spun. Inspired by the 1834 device, this installation inverts the proportions of the original zoetrope. Whereas the original device was small and viewed from above, the scale changes in this digital reinterpretation. The small viewpoint of the individuals becomes the central focus, and the device grows in size and plays with the scale of both the audience and the device. The essence and enchantment are retained, enhanced by the incorporation of brightness, and the red light harks back to humanity's earliest paintings.
