Parc del Centre del Poblenou - basketball court (Diagonal, 132 entrance)
Parc del Centre del Poblenou, designed by Jean Nouvel, aims to be a green oasis grounded in the memory of the neighbourhood’s working-class past, embodying a spirit of constant renewal. Within this park, the basketball court is a vibrant space frequented by young people and families.
For this installation, the IED Barcelona Design School has created three-dimensional sculptures directly inspired by actual residents, placing them around a light source that, like a beacon in the industrial night, both guides and warns. Eternal Shift seeks to reconnect viewers with their surroundings in a cycle in which light rotates, projecting human shadows, accelerates until the silhouettes become prisoners of time, and finally come to a halt.
The beacon thus becomes an industrial light wheel that keeps people permanently awake, chained to a frantic rhythm that disconnects them from the world around them.
