Saturday, 2 October, from 8.30 am to 3.45 pm: a good part the mountain side that MNAC is on will be occupied for the Barcelona Down Urban sports race. There will be no vehicle access to Av Montanyans, between Pg. Santa Madrona / Palau Nacional viewing point and the esplanade at the Palau Nacional’s multi-level parking area.
Barcelona Cycling Week features two races:
• Down Urban Barcelona
Set-off point: Av. Estadi (mountain-facing side) between the Young-Cho Hwang monument and up to the steps leading to Av. Montanyans.
Route: down along the steps section from Av. Estadi to Av. Montanyans – Besós-facing pavement by MNAC – Mirador del Palau – steps down to Pl. Cascades – Pl. Josep Puig i Cadafalch – Pl. Carles Buïgas.
• World Cup Eliminator XCO
Location: pl. Josep Puig i Cadafalch – Pl. Carles Buïgas.
These circuits will cause pedestrian pathway restrictions throughout the morning. Note that these disruptions will be joined by others from the AutoMobile Fair site along Av Reina Maria Cristina, Av Rius i Taulet and Av Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia, just below.
As for traffic closures, there will be no vehicle access to Av Montanyans, between Pg. Santa Madrona / Mirador del Palau Nacional and the esplanade at the Palau Nacional’s multi-level parking area, from 8.30 am to 2 pm. Vehicles will be able to access the parking area along Av. Montanyans from Plaça de Sant Jordi.
