Description of the activity

Through this visit we will see in situ some of the many public sculptures by Frederic Marès - some of which are well-known to pedestrians - and we will step into some of the corners of the city related, in one way or another, to the artist. In this way, we will get to know up close some of the most outstanding moments of his life and professional career, as a sculptor but also as a collector and as an active member of Barcelona and Catalan cultural life.

Methodology

Through a tour that starts at the Museum and continues through the streets and squares of the city, we will delve into the work and life of Frederic Marès, which will allow us to become aware of his presence in the city and to know a little better the political and social context in which he developed his artistic production. Finally, we will reflect on his legacy and how it has lasted in the city.
