Participation in reproduction systems of sculptural works of the Museum
The Museum has established conditions for the reproduction of sculptural works using digital technology of three-dimensional scanning and reproduction of resin or other materials other than the original.
The 3D three-dimensional scanning system is carried out "in situ", does not involve any manipulation of the work and is done with maximum fidelity.
In the process of reproducing works, the Museum has had the collaboration of the company Nub 3D, for the three-dimensional digitization, and other associated companies for the preparation of the final replica.
The replicas of the Museum's works made with this technology so far have been:
• Marble sarcophagus front, IV century, from Layos (Toledo) (MFM 157)
• Crucified Christ in polychrome wood, second half of the 12th century, from Santa Maria de València d'Àneu (MFM 645)
