Plaça de Catalunya hosts the 6th Responsible Consumption and Social and Solidarity Economy Fair from 18 to 30 December, organised by Barcelona City Council’s Directorate for Cooperative, Social and Solidarity Economy Services.

This year, the focus for the 6th edition of the fair will be the eco-social transition of responsible consumption and the social and solidarity economy as a means of tackling the health, socio-economic and climate crises.

This year's fair will be smaller, with controlled access and 30% capacity due to the situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, and it will focus on the showcasing and sale of products. There will be 32 stalls, where you will find products that promote and enable the practice of responsible and local consumption, along with explanations of specific consumption practices and everyday healthy habits in people's lives. The fair will aim to raise awareness of the principles and practices of the social and solidarity economy and responsible consumption, which take on even greater importance this year: proximity, caring for people, good living, agro-ecological food, fair trade, waste prevention and democratic management.

Some forty social and solidarity economy organisations and companies will be taking part, offering a wide range of crafts, clothing and other textile accessories, culture, books, packaged food, toys, cosmetics, well-being and other small gift products.

The fair will be held in the outer ring of Plaça de Catalunya from 18 to 30 December. The opening hours will be from 11 am to 8.30 pm and it will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
