Ferran Torrent and Núria Cadenes

In this dialogue, moderated by the journalist Laura Serra, Ferran Torrent and Núria Cadenes will discuss their latest books El jo que no mor (Columna, 2025) and En carn i ossos (Ara Llibres, 2025). While Torrent has written a novel in which no one is who they say they are, but where facts and feelings are authentic and genuine, Cadenes plays with the boundaries between fiction and reality. Two works which, side by side, mark a journey from the Valencia of Cold War espionage to the lands of Valencia devastated by the DANA storm.

Ferran Torrent is a writer and journalist. He is the author of Gràcies per la propina (Columna, 1994, Sant Jordi Award), Societat limitada (Columna, 2002 – Critics’ Catalan Novel Award, Joan Crexells Novel Award and the Serra d’Or Critics’ Novel Award), Bulevard dels Francesos (Columna, 2010), Un dinar un dia qualsevol (Columna, 2015); Individus com nosaltres (Columna, 2017) and Poder contar-ho (Columna, 2019). His most recent novels are Memòries de mi mateix (2023 Escriptors Valencians Critics’ Award) and El jo que no mor (Columna, 2025).

Núria Cadenes is a writer, journalist and bookseller. She is the author of El banquet (Butxaca, 1984), El cel de les oques (Columna, 1999), Tota la veritat (La Magrana, 2016 – Festival BCNegra Crims de Tinta Award), Secundaris (Comanegra, 2018) and the documentary novel Guillem (Amsterdam, 2020 – Lletra d’Or Award and València Negra Award for Best Novel). Her most recent books include La terra s’ho porta / No han donat la llum, encara (Comanegra, 2022), Tiberi Cèsar (Proa, 2023) and En carn i ossos (Ara Llibres, 2025).
