Mar García Puig and Albert Sánchez Piñol

In this dialogue, moderated by the writer Ricard Ruiz Garzón, Mar García Puig and Albert Sánchez Piñol will discuss Això tan tenebrós (La Magrana, 2025) / Esta cosa de tinieblas (Debate, 2025) and Les tenebres del cor (La Campana, 2025) / Las tinieblas del corazón (Alfaguara, 2025). These two works offer a journey into darkness: from a luminous journey through the shadows of language, where metaphors are born, to a fascinating account of the history of an illusion, the Homeric story of individuals who were dazzled by pygmies.

Mar García Puig is an editor and writer. She collaborated on the books LGTBI (Sembra Llibres, 2020), Neorrancios. Sobre los peligros de la nostalgia (Península, 2022) and Más que visibles (Egales, 2022). Her first book was La historia de los vertebrados (2023 – Ciutat de Barcelona Non-fiction Award). Her latest work is Això tan tenebrós (La Magrana, 2025) / Esta cosa de tinieblas (Debate, 2025).

Albert Sánchez Piñol is an anthropologist and writer. He is the author of La pell freda (La Campana, 2002 – Ojo Crítico and Llibreter Awards), Pandora al Congo (La Campana, 2005), Victus (Debutxaca, 2012), Vae Victus (Debutxaca, 2015), Fungus (Alfaguara, 2019), El monstruo de Santa Helena (La Campana, 2022) and Oración a Proserpina (Alfaguara, 2023).
