Architecture in the Classroom
Bringing architecture into primary and secondary schools
Since its inception in 2019, as part of the ArquiEscola educational programme, more than 34,000 pupils from over 300 primary, secondary and sixth-form centres in Barcelona have taken part in Architecture in the Classroom, with workshops led by more than 300 architects. In 2025, Architecture in the Classroom will resume its activities with workshops and talks designed to help primary and secondary pupils observe, reflect and act in relation to the architecture of their immediate surroundings. Schools will be able to choose from the following topics: rethinking indoor and outdoor educational spaces; functional diversity, accessibility and gender; identities and exploring our surroundings; and sustainability and health.
