Discover how the carnation tiles of Casa Vicens are made
The ceramics of Casa Vicens are one of the most iconic elements of this early work by Antoni Gaudí. Under the guidance of expert artisan ceramist Manel Diestre, who oversaw the restoration of the ceramic pieces at Casa Vicens, you’ll learn about the handcrafted process of making the carnation tiles on the façade, using the original stencilling technique. During the workshop, you’ll also get the chance to paint your own tile, which will be yours to keep.
As the tiles require kiln-firing, they’ll be ready for collection at Casa Vicens from the Saturday following the workshop. Participants will have up to two months to pick them up.
