Workshop-game to understand the mechanisms of gentrification and its social consequences.
"Gentrifi...what?" is a workshop that explores the processes driving the displacement of communities to the outskirts of economically-driven cities. Gentrification is a complex urban and economic phenomenon aimed at displacing elements that make social elites uncomfortable. It involves multiple factors, including real estate, commerce, tourism, politics, and more.
Through a board game that reveals the triggers of gentrification, we will gain the tools to discuss and, most importantly, recognize warning signs in our immediate environment. This will empower us to take action and fight to prevent it.
