Sobremesa is that special time when people linger around the table, chatting after a meal.

This proposal involves occupying a street or square connected to a civic or social centre, making use of its resources (tables, chairs, materials) and its outreach capacity. La Papiro will be responsible for facilitating the previously presented workshop or performance. It will be a one-off event, conceived as a space for sharing reflections on public spaces and community life.

We aim to create a space for collective participation, with everyone on equal terms, where citizens can eat, drink, listen, debate, write, draw and, above all, think together about an issue that affects us all: the city we inhabit.

Cities are living organisms, in constant flux. They are vibrant and contradictory settings, uniquely perceived by each person and at a given time. In this context, we propose a “menu” of questions that encourage us to rethink our relationship with public spaces. This is where tablecloths serve as blank canvases – surfaces for expression where neighbourhood reflections take shape and leave a lasting impression.

Appetisers: we’ll introduce a few concepts to whet your appetite, such as the reappropriation of public spaces by local residents.

Main course: we’ll chew over shared experiences in the neighbourhood and explore ways to inhabit everyday spaces.

Dessert: When was the last time you planted your chair on the street for a chinwag with the neighbours? Do you feel like you belong to your neighbourhood?
