Walking Tour through the Sants Neighborhood

As a consequence of the 2008 economic recession, the local architecture sector began to reinvent itself, shifting toward a model based on the reconversion and reuse of existing buildings and resources.

Architecture is increasingly seen as a sustainable project, rooted in participation, collaboration, and social commitment, while public investment in neighborhood-scale cultural facilities continues to grow.

A new generation of architects is standing out with modest, environmentally respectful proposals, carried out with remarkable sensitivity. These projects blend old and new, technological innovation and social transformation, redefining architecture as a powerful form of cultural expression.

This guided tour through the Sants neighborhood, led by Patricia Tamayo, will take us to visit spaces such as La Lleialtat Santsenca and La Comunal, outstanding examples of this new architectural approach that is reshaping the urban landscape through proximity and social engagement.
