An example of 1950s Catalan architecture that follows the principles of rationalism in a project based on well-proportioned dimensions and technological precision. Located inside an Eixample block, the building is known for its skilfully distributed layout that achieves a dynamic sequence of spaces. The exterior space features courtyards that meet the programme’s lighting and ventilation needs while maintaining Ildefons Cerdà’s vision of green block interiors. As for the interior, the architects tapped into the technical and expressive potential of the reinforced concrete structures of the time to create a bright space with large openings that give the building’s lobby a distinguished appearance.
