Located inside the current Mercat de Santa Caterina, the Espai Santa Caterina - Archaeological Interpretation Centre outlines some of the key events in the history of Barcelona, from the Bronze Age to the most recent manifestations of contemporary architecture.

This space seeks to share the evolution of this sector of the city from prehistory to our days. Notable features include the different stages of the Dominican convent of the same name, which was active between the 13th and 19th centuries, not to mention the period when it was a market and the recent renovation, which has built one of the most successful examples of contemporary architecture in Barcelona.
