Poblenou Cemetery is a true open-air museum: the monumental pantheons, the marble sculptures, the layout and the decoration of the site are the work of some of the best sculptors and architects of the 19th century.
The first space was designed by Antonio Ginesi of Italy in a neoclassical style and is laid out symmetrically with two intersecting streets that create four blocks. At the intersection, there is a monument to the victims of the 1821 yellow fever epidemic.
