Until a few decades ago, and since the end of the nineteenth century, Christmas greetings of trades were part of the daily life of cities in December.

The pictures contained in the main face the illustration of the job (serene, watchful, postman, coalman, bluffer, garbage dump, etc.), often with motifs alluding to his work and with views and monuments of the city and a phrase congratulating Christmas. On the back was a verse text with references to services provided throughout the year and the request of the will or Christmas box, since the fundamental function of these graphic products was their exchange for a quantity of money or products for the Christmas celebrations.

These sixteen Christmas greetings of trades from Barcelona during the 20th Century, which are part of a collection of more than four hundred copies, mostly made in chromolithography, some illustrated by renowned artists, are a good example of graphic material extinguished today, and in some cases, we are reminded of missing trades.
