Porta Trinitat

Porta Trinitat is a new multifunctional complex of facilities that joins the districts of Sant Andreu de Palomar and Trinitat Vella, ensuring their urban continuity to prevent them becoming isolated and give a new lease of life to this area surrounded by expressways and very little used by local residents.

This new complex includes a centre for associations, a social services centre and a women’s information and assistance point (PIAD) for the Sant Andreu district. It also includes subsidized housing, with services for the elderly and homes for young people.

Local people have been calling for the project for a decade, when the civic centre ceased to provide direct social assistance. Since then, local residents have had to travel to the social services centre in the Bon Pastor district.

The building has four floors, with a surface area of 2,330 m2, and two courtyards. It is for administrative and cultural uses, and has a public events room with seating for 170, multipurpose spaces for workshops, rehearsal rooms for music groups and dressing rooms.

Outside, there are three different areas: a main esplanade with flowerbeds, a place next to the events hall that can be used as a stage or for openair cinema, and a restricted-access area connected to the general container warehouses and specific spaces for drumming groups.
