Plaça del Moviment Obrer was turned into an amenity for sliding sports in response to local demand, recorded in the Neighbourhood Plan. The project was drawn up in a collaborative process with local residents and the associative fabric of the district of La Marina, in sessions led by experts that began in the last quarter of 2017. The result of these sessions was the decision to create three spaces: an intensive use area of 2,000 m² with the most active part of the skate park; some spirals converted into skate pools or bowls, and an initiation area, free of obstacles, located at the bottom of the space.

Converted into an open skate park, Plaça del Moviment Obrer has a pergola that provides shade during the day and has lighting for when it gets dark. In addition, it organizes advanced practice, initiation and relaxation areas. The park is lit more or less brightly depending on the time of day and is surrounded by new landscaped areas. The flowerbeds are made of concrete elements that also serve as benches and mark the boundaries of the green area. All this means that the empty space offered by the square has become a more user-friendly environment for everyone.
