'Sequence: causé cine, su cine cae' is a unique and intimate experimental electronic concert, created specifically for 'SEQUENCE #1'. The piece, more closely related to video club than film club, is based on digital detritus and simple analogue mechanisms, with homemade synthesisers, instruments made from electronic toys, mutant video game devices, modified keyboards and VHS films that can be heard but not seen.
Among the interferences, residual sounds, melodic derivations, support errors and reverberated dubbings, possible landscapes of a nonexistent film’s soundtrack will appear.

Javi Álvarez (Santiago de Compostela, 1979). Artist and musician, all of his work has a marked experimental character. He combines the creation of video art pieces with documentaries, video journalism and art dissemination.
He specialises in the creation of original soundtracks and sound design for podcasts; he won the Ondas Award in 2017 for 'Catástrofe Utravioleta'. A significant part of his research is based on uncommon audiovisual formats, such as circuit bending techniques, the use of reverse engineering in household devices, the modification of obsolete hardware – from 8-bit computers to analogue videos –, the recovery and updating of traditional animation techniques, filming with small and medium format film and, generally, any sort of experimental tools.
He has edited records for projects such as Néboa, Fluzo, Dúo Cobra and Bravido, and in his own name, he has played at festivals including Sónar, Primavera Sound and LEM, and Los Conciertos de Radio 3, among many others.
