New year of records at the Anella Olímpica
The complex closes out 2025 with a record 198 events, representing a growth of 15%. It also attracted 11% more spectators, over 2.4 million in all. The complex reaffirms its international position as a leading space for large-format events, particularly major music tours.
The Anella Olímpica, made up of the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, the Palau Sant Jordi and the Sant Jordi Club, hosted activities on 351 days of the year, practically selling out, with the days to assemble and dismantle each event included.
On average, 42% of spectators came from Barcelona and the metropolitan area, compared to 34.7% from the rest of Catalonia, 16.2% from other parts of Spain and 7.1% from other countries.
Concerts as the cornerstone at the Anella Olímpica
There were 116 concerts at the complex in 2025, with nearly 1.2 million spectators. The Palau Sant Jordi hosted half of them (58), followed by the Sant Jordi Club (51) and the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (7). The city’s appeal and the good relationship between BSM and national and international promotors enabled many artists to choose Barcelona as their only date in the whole state; as was the case with Guns N’ Roses, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Lady Gaga, Jamiroquai and Mumford & Sons.
The positive trend seems set to continue next year, with different music events which have already sold out. These include Oques Grasses (5,7, 9 and 10 October), El Último de la Fila (3 and 7 May) and Bad Bunny (22 and 23 May) at the Estadi Olímpic, and Rosalía (13, 15, 17 and 18 April) and Aitana (4, 5, 7 and 8 September), at the Palau Sant Jordi.
Family shows, corporate and sports events, film shoots and city events attracted nearly 200,000 spectators between them. They included 58 events such as Disney on Ice, linked to the Palau Sant Jordi since 1993, the Cirque du Soleil, the Catalonia vs. Palestine benefit match, the Trial Indoor Barcelona, the Premier Padel Finals and the Esport i Dansa Ara school gathering. Also worth mentioning are the 24 matches that FC Barcelona played at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in 2025, with over a million spectators.
Next year brings the initial stage of the Tour de France (4 and 5 July), with the finish line at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
Transformation under way
Next year will also be an important year for the transformation in progress at the Anella Olímpica, with the project to enlarge and improve the Sant Jordi Club into a venue with flexible capacities of between 3,500 and 9,000 spectators, characteristics unlike any other in the city to date.
Work will be carried out at the stadium and the Palu Sant Jordi over the course of the year to improve the infrastructure, function and user experience. The lighting at the esplanade at the Olympic complex will also be renewed to make it more efficient.
