The Bloc4BCN is managed by the Associació Bloc4, made up of the organisations Confederació de Cooperatives de Catalunya, the Federació de Cooperatives de Treball de Catalunya, the Ateneu Cooperatiu de Barcelona and the Associació Coòpolis. It also includes the services of Sants-Montjuïc Activa and Barcelona Activa services for launching cooperatives.

The building is home to 40 cooperatives, providing 136 jobs and representing a variety of sectors such as communication, technology, housing, energy transition and more. In the first half of 2025 the building hosted over 900 activities with more than 6,000 people taking part, consolidating it as a point of reference for cooperatives and the social and solidarity economy (ESS).

The Bloc4BCN is a public cooperative initiative funded by Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia, with a municipal investment of 10.3 million euros. It has a built surface space of 4,500 square metre on two floors of an old industrial unit at Can Batlló, comprehensively renovated.
