The IBE is launching a shock plan of 10 million euros to renew and update sports spaces in all districts. One of the most notable projects is the transformation of Hall 2 at Fira de Barcelona, making it the new Municipal Multi-Purpose Sports Hall for Poble-sec. With its sports courts, changing rooms and stands, the new facility will respond to a long-standing in the neighbourhood, calling for more local sports facilities.

The package of investments also includes the revamp and addition of the changing rooms of the full-size football ground at the CEM Guinardó, with a budget of 1.8 million euros. The work will mean bigger changing rooms, the addition of new training rooms and an outside entrance to the ground from C/ Telègraf.

Another important action is the replacement of the turf at the full-size football ground in La Texionera and the La Foixarda Municipal Rugby Ground, with an expected investment of 1.7 million euros. The work includes the installation of new latest-generation artificial turf on both pitches, new scoreboards and the comprehensive revamp of both facilities.

Similarly, the changing rooms at the CEM Mar Bella will be remodelled with an investment of 1.1 million euros and a new cover installed for the outdoor pool at CEM Can Toda, also with a budget of approximately 1.1 million euros.

New LED lighting is also to be installed at the IET Escola Industrial, the CEM Pau Negre-Parc del Migdia, the Velòdrom d’Horta, the CEM Mar Bella, the Estadi Joan Serrahima and the La Foixarda rugby ground; the projects will also be drafted for replacing the turf at the municipal football grounds of Canyelles, Nou Barris and Menorca, plus new paving at the pavilion at the CEM Mar Bella.
