Checks on commercial personal mobility vehicles will be stepped up in the areas which are most saturated with these types of vehicles, and where they can cause inconvenience to local people. By ramping up checks, the goal is to guarantee that PMVs comply with regulations: they must be registered, have the relevant insurance and circulate in authorised spaces.

In the period up to May, the City Police made 588 formal denouncements against PMVs and cycles with more than two wheels being used for commercial purposes. A total of 255 shared personal mobility vehicles and 35 rickshaws have also been taken to the municipal vehicle pound.
