Officers will work to ensure the correct maintenance of public spaces, with all types of graffiti, daubed paint, stains, scribbles, writing, inscriptions or graphic images made with ink, paint or any other organic material, or scratching on surfaces, to be regarded as degradation of the urban environment.

Unauthorised graffiti on urban furniture, facilities, the façades of public properties, public transport elements and parks and garden or traffic signs may result in fines of up to 600 euros.

The campaign is part of Barcelona City Council’s Pla Endreça, which includes a wide range of measures coordinated by municipal services, cutting right across the board and having an impact on the city, regaining the excellence and quality of public space.
