    • Be extra careful when swimming, and call 112 in case of emergency.
    • Respect the beach warning flags and follow the rules. You can check the flag status and how busy each beach is at barcelona.cat/platges to help plan your visit.
    • Always follow the instructions of the beach staff.
    • Avoid drinking alcohol, as it slows your reaction time.
    • Only swim within the area marked by the yellow buoys.
    • Stay away from the breakwaters. Jumping into the water is prohibited.
    • Don’t stray too far from the shore.
    • Never joke about or fake an emergency.
    • If you’re not a confident swimmer, stay close to the lifeguard.
    • If you get caught in a current, float and signal for help.
    • If there are jellyfish or stingrays in the water, keep your distance.

Remember: the beach belongs to everyone, and it’s everyone’s responsibility to take care of it. For more tips and good practices, visit barcelona.cat/platges.
