- Be extra careful when swimming, and call 112 in case of emergency.
- Respect the beach warning flags and follow the rules. You can check the flag status and how busy each beach is at barcelona.cat/platges to help plan your visit.
- Always follow the instructions of the beach staff.
- Avoid drinking alcohol, as it slows your reaction time.
- Only swim within the area marked by the yellow buoys.
- Stay away from the breakwaters. Jumping into the water is prohibited.
- Don’t stray too far from the shore.
- Never joke about or fake an emergency.
- If you’re not a confident swimmer, stay close to the lifeguard.
- If you get caught in a current, float and signal for help.
- If there are jellyfish or stingrays in the water, keep your distance.
