Subsidies are awarded to 107 projects out of the 239 submitted for this call, representing a rise of 4.9% in projects funded and 17.73% in projects submitted, compared to the 2024 call.

A new aspect this year was the inclusion of a category for projects consisting of activities for creation and artistic expression linked to the visual arts, literature, the performing arts (theatre, dance, circus arts), film, photography and music, which foster education for global justice and respect for human rights.

The total budget applied in the 2025 subsidy call is 8.97 million euros, (up by 10.6% compared to last year), 5.99 million of which corresponds to the budget for 2025 and 2.98 to the budget for 2026 to provide continuity for multi-year projects. With this subsidy call and the other steps taken in this field, the municipal government again meets its commitment to devote 0.7% of its own revenue to global justice and international cooperation.

As for the projects submitted, 54.31% of those assessed (that is, those admitted for meeting the administrative requisites set out in the call) will get funding; 61.85% of projects with scores of 50 points or more, the minimum required to secure funding.

By category, the 107 projects to receive funding from Barcelona City Council are grouped into three programmes:

  • International cooperation for global justice: 39 projects
  • International cooperation for specific cities: 14 projects
  • Education for global justice: 54 projects

The distribution of the budget by geographical area for international cooperation and specific cities programmes is as follows:

  • Mediterranean: 44%
  • Sub-Saharan Africa: 28%
  • Latin America: 25%
  • Others: 3%

The provisional resolution for the subsidy call was published on 15 September 2025.
