Disruptions to mobility for the demonstration on 25 November
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is on 25 November. A demonstration is being held in Barcelona from 6 pm to 9.30 pm, organised by the Ca la Dona association with the support of the City Council’s Directorate for Feminism and LGBTI Services.
The demonstration route is: Rda. Universitat (opposite direction) – Pl. Catalunya, side nearest the mountain (opposite direction) – Rda. Sant Pere (opposite direction) – Pl. Urquinaona – Via Laietana – Pl. Antoni Maura – Av. Francesc Cambó.
Parking prohibition
Special signs will be in place prohibiting parking, including motorcycles on pavements, from 2 pm to 10 pm on 25 November in:
- Pl. Universitat, side nearest the sea.
- Av. Francesc Cambó, from Freixures to Pl. Antoni Maura (both sides).
Road closures
Vehicles will not be able to circulate from 5.30pm to 10 pm on Tuesday, 25 November, in:
- Rda. Sant Antoni (both sides), from Sepúlveda to Rda. Universitat.
- Rda. Universitat (both sides), from Pl. Catalunya to Pl. Universitat.
- Pl. Catalunya (both sides, road surface nearest the sea).
- Rda. Sant Pere, from Pl. Urquinaona to Pl. Catalunya (both sides).
- Pl. Urquinaona (side nearest the Llobregat, both sides).
- Via Laietana (both sides), from Pl. Urquinaona to Av. Catedral.
- Pl. Catedral (motorcycle parking area).
- Av. Francesc Cambó, from Mercaders to Pl. Antoni Maura (both sides).
The route means that certain spaces will be cut off by the demonstration, with no possibility of moving parked vehicles and residual traffic having to wait until the end of the march passes through. As roads are freed up of demonstrators, traffic will gradually return to normal.
Public transport
Several bus services will be diverted or have their routes limited during the demonstration: D50, H16, V15, V17, 19, 22, 24, 39, 47, 52, 54, 55, 59, 63 and 120.
