Traffic restrictions in Passeig de Gràcia for the ceremony to switch on the Christmas lights
Passeig de Gràcia is hosting a grand ceremony to switch on the Christmas lights on Saturday, 22 November, organised by Brava Arts and directed by Pep Anton Gómez. Besides aerial dance, there will be a light installation and music, the ceremony and a forty strong choir of voices from all ten city districts performing the Barcelona Christmas carol ‘Un cor que batega’. The ceremony to switch on the Christmas lights is being held on in Passeig de Gràcia, between Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and Ronda Sant Pere on 22 November, at 6 pm, with the following disruptions to traffic:
The central section of the street will be closed from 7 am on Wednesday, 19 November, to 6 am on Sunday 23.
The side lanes will be closed to traffic on Saturday 22, from 3 pm to 8 pm.
The junction at Gran Via and Passeig de Gràcia will be closed on Saturday 22, from 5 pm until the audience has dispersed. From 5.30 pm, Passeig de Gràcia will also be closed between Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and C/ Aragó, including the side lanes.
Vehicles circulating along Gran Via in the direction of the Besòs will be diverted using the streets of Entença, Comte d’Urgell, Aribau and Balmes. Traffic circulating in the direction of the Llobregat will be diverted using the streets of Roger de Llúria and Pau Claris.
Parking will be prohibited in Passeig de Gràcia, between Ronda Sant Pere and Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes from Tuesday 18, at 7 pm, to Sunday 23, at 6 am, including motorcycles on pavements.
The routes for buses that circulate in this section will be changed.
Access to car parks in C/ Casp from Ronda Sant Pere will be guaranteed while the side lanes are open.
