Work begins on the future centre for digital content creation in Catalan

The meeting was held at the Palo Alto hub to kick off the definition of the new platform, which will connect with projects to create content in Catalan on social media.

The home of the Casa de la Creació Digital en Català will be located in the ground floor premises of the Illa Glòries building and will offer various services, such as support and training for creators and emerging creators, with collaborative workspaces and digital incubation projects. The facility should be fully operational in 2027. In the meantime, the centre will provisionally start its activity in the Convent de Barcelona Activa.

Joining forces to drive the language on social media

The centre comes from an ERC initiative included in the group’s agreement with the municipal government to consolidate Barcelona as the capital of creative expression in Catalan and inspire the digital creation of the future.

The initiative is also being backed by the main organisations and platforms for content in Catalan, such as Accent Obert, Betevé and 3Cat, while Barcelona Activa is bringing its experience in entrepreneurial incubation and advice for training and access to subsidies and funding.
