Revamp to the inner gardens at the Constança d’Aragó block in Dreta de L’Eixample
More games, more recreational activities, more greenery and better furniture, lighting and sewerage. All this forms part of the revamp to the Jardins de Constança d’Aragó, located in the inner section between the streets of Roger de Flor, València-Diagonal, Nàpols and Aragó, which is open to local people. The project is part of the PEPI local interior spaces programme to boost the quantity and quality of empty urban spaces all around the city and add more greenery.
The space currently has only one entrance (located at C/ Roger de Flor, 194), using a passage beneath the neighbourhood’s primary healthcare centre (CAP).
The project covers a surface area of 1,114 square metres, most of it in the central play area, which will get new playing options, moving and static, to match them to municipal criteria on play and accessibility. An elevated area will be created at the back of the area, with a slide and a climbing zone with rope to get up the front of the slope. The project also includes a trunk circuit for balancing in the granite sand section, a roundabout and a sandpit with digging equipment on the side nearest the sea. Located on the soft play area will be two structures with two-seater swings and a nest with a net. More benches and the perimeter bench will allow people to relax in a space which also has board games. The perimeter will also be full of dense bushes.
With the draft project completed, work will now begin to draft the final project with a view to carrying out the work between next summer and the start of 2027. The initial cost anticipated is 825,000 euros.
The project is part of the PEPI local interior spaces programme, which has the basic goal of improving the quality of public spaces and dignifying local urban environments all around the city. The action comes in addition to a parallel project using similar criteria in the inner gardens at the Clotilde Cerdà block, in Fort Pienc.
