Mobile Week Barcelona spreads around the city

This year’s edition is much bigger and strengthens its position with over 120 free activities including discussions, speeches, debates, exhibitions, workshops, film sessions and children’s activities around 70 venues in the city’s neighbourhoods.

This technology and future-oriented project hopes to attract 16,000 visitors, eight times more than the previous edition. The number of city venues involved has increased from 40 to 90 and includes libraries, community centres, fab athenaeums, museums and municipal technology facilities such as the MediaTIC, the Nou Barris Technology Park and the Cibernàrium.

This year’s edition makes a significant quantitative and qualitative leap compared to last year and has also been conceived with a metropolitan angle, with activities also taking place in cities such as L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Sant Adrià de Besòs.

Mobile Week Barcelona is on from 15 to 24 February, converting Barcelona’s districts into places for open debate, creativity and learning as a means of reflecting on how the digital transformation is changing our everyday life.

New features

This second edition includes spaces given over specifically to reflection and debate, a day of family activities entitled mWeekKids and a programme of guided tours, films sessions and the exhibition ‘Everyday Future’. The exhibition features ten creations by emerging artists who combine art and technology to offer their vision of the everyday future. It is on at the Disseny Hub Barcelona from 15 February to 4 March.
