Next academic year to start with five new all-through schools in the public network

The 2024-2025 academic year gets under way on 9 September with five new all-through schools, resulting from the enlargement of four schools in the Zona Nord area of Nou Barris (Escola Elisenda de Montcada, Escola Mestre Morera, Escola Ciutat Comtal and Escola Ferrer i Guàrdia), and another in Sant Anadreu, the Institut Escola Vapor i Molí, resulting from the merger between the Escola Molí de Finestrelles and the Institut Vapor del Fil.

More children to be schooled from I3

Of these, 5,698 are places in publicly operated schools and 6,022 are in state-subsidised private schools. The prevision is for 10,805 infants in this school year (compared to 10,561 last year).

There will be fewer infants in district such as Gràcia and Sant Andreu, where unlike last year, no additional groups are being opened. In contrast, a new group is planned at the Escola Pràctiques in the district of Sants.
