Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí (1891–1981). Lessons in Landscape
The exhibition invites visitors to discover the work and thought of Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí, an architect and landscape architect who played a key role in Barcelona’s recent transformation.
The itinerary unfolds through a set of “lessons” that highlight his critical gaze, artistic sensibility and commitment to the city.
Each section of the exhibition is built around one “lesson”, reinforced by a title taken from Rubió’s writings and reflections. These quotes operate as a guide and a key to reading the content of each room, as well as to the multifaceted activity of Rubió.
The themes revolve around diverse issues such as the problem of open spaces in Barcelona, the garden as a work of art, the practice of the Latin garden, architectural criticism and notes from the architect’s travels.
