Responses to the Major Challenges of the Metropolitan Public Space
Metropolitan public space—the place where collective life takes place—is a territory in constant transformation that must adapt to changing needs.
At the AMB, for forty years, multidisciplinary teams have worked closely with municipalities to structure and knit it together, with the aim of building a more balanced, accessible and sustainable metropolis. This accumulated experience is projected towards the future with an innovative outlook to address the great contemporary challenges of public space.
The aim of the exhibition is to show how advanced concepts are put into practice—through real projects—to respond to current issues and lay the foundations for a more sustainable future.
Through seven major challenges—Adapt, Reconnect, Move, Recover, Care, Equip and Inhabit—the exhibition exemplifies how concrete action tackles the transformation of the territory and its facilities via efficient, responsible resource management; how it faces the effects of climate change; guarantees connectivity and sustainable mobility; and preserves and recovers natural and cultural heritage.
This is an invitation to reflect on how we can continue building a territory that is more resilient and attuned to present and future needs.
